Borshoff Johnson Matthews to re-brand as “Borshoff”

Name change reflects communication agency’s growth; ownership remains unchanged

INDIANAPOLIS – Local communications agency Borshoff Johnson Matthews and its marketing and advertising division, 2Fold, are rebranding under a single name, “Borshoff.”

“Key to our new name is our expanded commitment to providing full-service integrated communications under one roof,” said Erik C.A. Johnson, APR, one of the agency’s principals. “We will continue to meet clients wherever they are in the communications spectrum. If they need a comprehensive campaign that includes research, planning, implementation and measurement, we can deliver. If they need help with individual services such as media relations or advertising, we can meet those needs, too.”

While the majority of Borshoff’s clients are based in Indiana, in recent years the client roster has grown to include a number of out-of-state organizations, including Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) in Washington, D.C.; Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, Ill.; and City National Bank in Charleston, WV.

“As we grow, we see great opportunities coming not only from Indiana, but also from other regions where we can leverage existing expertise,” said Myra Borshoff Cook, APR, who founded the agency in 1984 and also serves as an agency principal. “The company’s single name will help us more quickly build brand awareness in new markets as we position ourselves for continued success.”

Borshoff Cook, Johnson and Susan F. Matthews, APR, remain the company’s veteran principals, all of whom continue to play an active role in daily operations and client work. In July, the company announced long-time employee Jennifer Young Dzwonar, APR, had become its fourth principal.

“Changing to Borshoff was a unanimous decision on the part of all principals,” Matthews said. “We strongly believe that Borshoff is the best name for us as we work to achieve our vision.”

“The name Borshoff is succinct and distinctive, and carries 23 years of strong brand equity in central Indiana for public relations, marketing communications and advertising,” Dzwonar said.

New identity

Along with the new name is a new corporate identity, including a new logo and Web site: www.borshoff.biz. The Borshoff logo features stylized “dialogue bubbles” to illustrate the agency’s commitment to helping clients develop and maintain strong, two-way relationships with stakeholders.
