Central Indiana students hand-delivering Indianapolis’ Super Bowl 2012 bid to all 32 teams Friday, May 9
Northwest Airlines providing travel for students, chaperones
WHAT: Thirty-two central Indiana eighth-grade students are hand-delivering Indianapolis’ bid for Super Bowl 2012 to NFL team representatives across the country Friday, May 9. That is the day the NFL requires owners to receive the bid so they will have time to review each city’s proposal before the owners vote for the host of Super Bowl 2012 on May 21, 2008, during their meeting in Atlanta.
Each student, along with a chaperone, will travel to his or her selected city and visit the NFL team facility to deliver the bid. Superintendents of 26 central Indiana public school districts selected eighth-grade students in high academic standing who are exemplary representatives of their communities. These students, who will be seniors in 2012, will be ambassadors of the Super Bowl now and until the game if Indianapolis is awarded the bid.
WHEN: May 9, 2008
WHERE: Indianapolis International Airport
WHO: Northwest Airlines is providing travel for the students and chaperones. All events are being coordinated by Indianapolis’ Super Bowl 2012 Bid Committee. More information about the community’s role in developing the bid – along with community videos featuring NFL fans – is available at the bid’s Web site, www.our2012sb.com.
