Borshoff vice president helps homeless veterans
For the past few years, Katherine Coble, Borshoff vice president, has been on a mission to improve the lives of homeless veterans through her volunteer involvement with HVAF of Indiana, Inc., an organization focused on helping homeless veterans and their families. Coble has served as chairman of the board of directors for the past three years. During her term, she helped lead several substantial initiatives for HVAF, including:
- Rebranding the organization and changing its name
- Securing United Way designation, resulting in more than $2 million in extra funding in less than three years
- Opening a new facility for headquarters and intensive substance abuse treatment
- Opening a new facility providing 40 apartments for homeless veterans
- Opening doors to new funding and volunteer streams, including relationships with major businesses in central Indiana
“I am excited to have been a part of all the excitement happening with HVAF in recent years,” Coble said. “Most importantly, though, I’m pleased to see that our efforts have provided homes and hope to veterans who have served our country and now need our help.”
Coble is stepping down as chairman in June, but will continue to serve on the HVAF board and as a volunteer at special events.
