Borshoff account manager networks with PR professionals from around the globe

Andrea Farmer, account manager, was among 30 public relations (PR) professionals who attended the IPREX Global Leadership Conference in Atlanta in January. In addition to honing her PR skills, she shared ideas with PR professionals from Norway, Ireland, the UK, Germany and China. Journalists from the Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Associated Press addressed the group as part of a media panel on “The Impact and Importance of Social Media.”

Andrea especially enjoyed the keynote address by PR pro and “social media guru” Peter Shankman, “It’s not Web 2.0. It’s not Web 3.0. It’s Simply Life.” Shankman is the creator of the well-known Help a Reporter Out (HARO) e-mail query that connects journalists with sources via a social media platform. (Andrea and Peter are pictured below.)

“The IPREX conference was a wonderful educational and cultural experience. Not only did I learn a great deal about Twitter, Facebook and other social media networks, but I also networked with professionals from our partner agencies around the country and the world. I’m excited to use the new information and contacts for future Borshoff projects.”

While in Atlanta, Andrea also visited the “Tutankhamun: The Golden Kings and the Great Pharaohs” exhibit, which will make its way to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis in June. Borshoff is working to promote the exhibit to educators.
