Matthews back from IPREX09 annual meeting in NYC
Borshoff principal Susan Matthews, APR, has returned from what she calls “the best ever IPREX meeting” in New York City last week.
Joined with IPREX partners from 15 countries, Matthews met with editors at Bloomberg, took in a panel of seven top corporate communicators moderated by BusinessWeek Executive Editor John Byrne, and got a behind-the-scenes tour of Google.
“The amount of new and useful information we absorbed was amazing,” Matthews said. From tips on how Bloomberg operates (real time is the key), to how communicators are surviving economic challenges in a world where social media is changing the communications landscape, to a walk-through of Google’s tool kit for agencies – IPREX partners were privy to important and timely insights.
Matthews’ tweets from throughout the conference included:
- Bloomberg editors' 5 F's: factual, first, fastest, final and future. Each is critical.
- At Bloomberg: amazing tech tools combined with traditional journalism values. "Show, don't tell." Rpt facts, no opinions. Real time is key.
- Just downloaded Bloomberg's app for the iPhone (tip from Bloomberg editors.)

“It’s always energizing to be with so many smart and talented communications partners from around the globe,” Matthews added. “These meetings reinforce the benefits Borshoff realizes by being part of a strong, global communications partnership.”
