Reis-Nichols uses social media to play Cupid as they hide gifts throughout the city

Finder’s Keepers

Indy-area residents still looking for a Valentine’s Day gift can follow clues from Reis-Nichols Jewelers to find jewelry hidden around the city and in surrounding communities. From now until Valentine’s Day, Reis-Nichols Jewelers is again playing Cupid through their version of “Finder’s Keepers,” and the person who finds each gift gets to keep it, no strings attached! Each gift is wrapped in silver paper with a bright red bow and has a tag informing the “finder” of their good fortune.

Not only does the person who finds the gift get to keep it, he or she also has the opportunity to make an impact on their community. When the “finder” calls Reis-Nichols, the jeweler will donate $100 to the charity of the finder’s choice.

Clues

Not only are the clues about the locations of the items updated daily on Reis-Nichols’ Web site, but the company is also using Facebook and Twitter to spread the word. During the first week of the giveaway, some of the more than 600 fans of Reis-Nichols’ Facebook page not only commented on the clues, guessing the location and giving each other advice, they also commented on the photos of the gifts after they’re found. Once each gift is found, a photo of the item is posted on Reis-Nichols Facebook page for all to see.

A winner’s story

Engaged couple Brad Waugh and Sherrie Molder of Fishers found one of the gifts — a set of David Yurman pearl earrings — near Hinkle Fieldhouse. Sherrie is so excited about the earrings, she posted on Reis-Nichols Facebook page that she may wear the earrings as her “something new” during their September wedding! The couple chose to donate their $100 to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, an organization very close to their hearts because of a family connection.
