It’s that time of year again…

…Time for our annual gallery show featuring the work of talented artists from the Herron School of Art + Design. We truly look forward to this event … as much as a child looks forward to Christmahanakwanzika! (And just as much care and planning go into making this a great event.)

Each year, we get to meet fresh new artists and collaborate with them on a theme for the show. “Continuous” is our 2011 theme and it was inspired by the transformation our city has encountered over the past couple of decades – a result of the ongoing dedication of people who desire to make Indianapolis a great place to work, live and visit.

A change in the weather and gallery show

Beautiful foliage, ripe apples and cooler weather – Autumn is here. That means we are getting ready for the Borshoff Annual Gallery Show + Awards. Traditionally, every Fall we partner with Herron School of Art and Design and have a gallery show here at Borshoff. This year we’re changing it up.

Collaboration makes great creative

One of my favorite aspects of Borshoff is its spirit of collaboration, which provides everyone with a chance to participate and have ownership in a project. There is nothing better than bringing a half-baked idea to a group and coming out with a solid creative solution. It’s fascinating to see where others take a particular idea or concept. We practice this process in-house and, of course, with our partners – including Herron School of Art and Design.

Jacob Custer wins Borshoff Gallery Show

Congratulations to Jacob Custer, winner of the second annual Borshoff Gallery Show. The show’s theme is “Future,” and eight Herron Art School and Design graduate students contributed.

Jacob says of the future: “To be able to project into the future and see where certain pathways end is an ability that all of us fall short of. So abstract superstitions, like wishing, become a way to cope with uncertainty and form a sense of security to where life may lead into the future.”
