"Summer Oasis" in Indianapolis in summer 2006 was created to launch Starbucks' summer beverages, Tangerine Frappuccino™ Juice Blend and Pomegranate Frappuccino™ Juice Blend. In less than three hours, Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis was transformed into a tropical paradise complete with more than 10 tons of sand, a Brazilian band, free beverages, fresh fruit and cookies, lounge chairs and cabanas. Thousands attended this event to sample the beverages and enjoy a nice break during the work day.
