St. Francis Mooresville Grand Opening

St. Francis Hospital – Mooresville Grand Opening 2008: In spring 2008, St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers unveiled its largest-ever Mooresville campus expansion. Originally known as a specialty hospital, St. Francis Hospital – Mooresville completed a $42 million project, transitioning the facility to a full-service hospital accommodating the growing health care needs of northern Morgan, Hendricks and southwestern Marion counties. An integrated communications effort was conducted to educate community members and hospital staff about the hospital’s expansion grand opening and to appropriately celebrate the new facility. St. Francis charged Borshoff with developing and implementing the communications strategy, which included internal communications, media relations, collateral development, event management for three large-scale events and much more.
RESULTS: Attendance at all events was higher than expected, with nearly 500 attendees at the employee event, about 1,000 visitors at the community open house with more than 400 people participating in the health screenings and several hundred people at the blessing and dedication. St. Francis, with Borshoff’s assistance, garnered nearly 30 local media hits surrounding the three events, including stories in all targeted media outlets, plus many more.
