Superbowl 2012 Grassroots

Borshoff played a major role in helping Indianapolis secure the bid to host Super Bowl XLVI (46) in 2012. We were retained in March of 2008 to help gather community input for several portions of the bid including a legacy project and Super Bowl Village, to engage local leaders to post blogs on the official Super Bowl 2012 Web site, to coordinate participation among Central Indiana school districts that were asked to provide an 8th grade student and a chaperone to personally hand-deliver the Super Bowl bid books to NFL team owners, to coordinate bid delivery with the 32 NFL teams, and to develop and execute media relations strategies surrounding this unique delivery.

RESULTS: Borshoff helped the Committee earn local and national media coverage in broadcast, print and online outlets including Associated Press, The Chicago Tribune and The Indianapolis Star. All Indianapolis television stations broadcasted live from Indianapolis International Airport the morning of May 9, 2008, as the students and their chaperones boarded planes to deliver Indy’s Super Bowl 2012 bid nationwide.
